Is Your Boat Safe?

Boaters can get a free vessel safety check by the US Coast Guard Auxiliary this Sunday, May 22 at the Mandarin Park Boat Ramp from 11AM to 2PM.   A vessel examiner will review your vessel for Federal and State required safety equipment.  No fines will be issued for any missing items.  Boats with all required equipment receive a sticker which will indicate to authorities that your boat has received a vessel safety check.  National Safe Boating Week kicks off on Saturday, May 21. Take a few minutes to make sure your boating adventure is safe and fun.

Second Round of Quaifying played at Eagle Landing

Another day of excellent tennis at Eagle Landing as the second qualifying round was played today, April 30, narrowing the players down to 32 for the 2011 Eagle Landing Tennis Classic, a $10,000 USTA Pro Circuit Futures event, in Orange Park, Fla., running now through May 9.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It's only a matter of time before first round pick Blaine Gabbert replaces David Garrard as the Jaguars' starting quarterback. 

The 9-year veteran vows to fight to keep his job as long as possible, but he also promises to help the rookie along.
