ORANGE PARK, Fla. --- The Orange Park Police Department is trying to identify a man and an infant, as police say the man went door-to-door at a local motel offering to trade the baby for food.
According to Detective Garry Briggs, it's unknown if the child is the man's baby.
Police are attempting to identify the man and infant to determine the status and welfare of the child.
Briggs said that the man and baby were picked up by a taxi cab from a McDonalds between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday.
They were accompanied by a white female and there is no record of any cabs in the area picking them up, so they may have been given an "off the meter" ride, Briggs said.
If you can provide any assistance, or if you are a cab driver who picked these individuals up, please call the Orange Park Police Department at 904-264-5555.
