Clay County Shooting Reported in Argyle Forest
News

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office is at the scene of a shooting in the new Sweetbriar subdivision in Argyle.

At least one person was injured in the shooting, which CCSO spokesperson Mary Justino said took place in the 400 block of Thornberry Drive.

A deputy headed to the scene hit a pole while going through the intersection of Argyle Forest Blvd and Branan Field Chafee Road, Justino said.

It appears that a motorist didn't yield to that officer's activated lights and siren, forcing the officer to swerve to avoid hitting the other vehicle, according to Justino. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
