Orange Park Man, Stepson Sentenced for Child Porn
News

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- The man and stepson guilty on child porn charges have learned their sentences.

According to United States Attorney Robert E. O'Neill, Derek Alan Lee will spend 15.5 years in federal prison and a lifetime of supervised release for receiving child pornography over the internet.

His stepson, Jeffrey Dean McMillan, was sentenced to four years in federal prison and ten years of supervised release for possession of child porn.

Both must also register as sex offenders

Background

An investigation led to the home of 44-year-old Derek Alan Lee in December, when he was an employee of the U.S. Forest Service.

Officers with a warrant went to his Orange Park home and met 21-year-old Jeffrey Dean McMillan, Lee's stepson.

O'Neill's report indicates that McMillan admitted possessing child pornography, and said that Lee did as well.

When Lee returned to the house, he said to the officers, "If you have a search warrant, you found that I have child pornography on my computer."

Both were then arrested.

Lee told the officers he viewed the images every couple of weeks and had been doing so for 10 years.

According to O'Neill, forensic analysis of Lee's computer revealed about 111 videos and 116 images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and a collection of "incest stories" featuring adults engaged in sexual molestation of children.

Both men entered guilty pleas.
