Stolen Ray-Bans, 3 subjects wanted | News
ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in identifying three subjects wanted in connection with a Feb. 4 theft of two pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses worth $379 from Sunglass Hut at Orange Park Mall.
The three males, believed to be in their late teens to early 20s, told the Sunglass Hut employee they were on a senior "skip day" from a Jacksonville school.
Two of the males attempted to distract the sales associate while the third male was looking at the Ray-Ban sunglasses, according to a CCSO police report.
Of the two males talking to the sales associate, one was wearing a black and white jacket vest with a lavender long-sleeved shirt and khaki pants. The other was wearing a pink button-down shirt, khaki pants and brown tennis shoes.
The third male, wearing a pink button-down shirt, khaki pants and blue and white sneakers, was later observed on surveillance camera by police putting two pairs of Ray-Ban sunglasses in his pocket.
Investigators are not certain if the three subjects really had a senior skip day or if that was just a cover story, but the photos were shared with the Duval County Public Schools Police Department.
Anyone with any information about the subjects or the incident is asked to contact CCSO Det. Adam Graff at (904) 264-6512.
