Suspect believed to be behind Clay, Duval robberies | News
CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- The Clay County Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect in a Kangaroo Store robbery at 1890 Kingsley Avenue in Orange Park.
On Thursday September 19 at 1:30 a.m., a man walked into the store and up to the clerk. The suspect then allegedly demanded money while pointing a black handgun at him, according to a Clay County Sheriff's Office press release.
The clerk placed cash register drawer on the counter and the man took it and ran out the door toward a nearby apartment complex.
The victim and a witness described the man as wearing a black long-sleeve T-shirt, blue jeans, latex gloves and a red ski mask. They also saw several tattoos on his neck and arms, but couldn't describe them.
The release also said the suspect is connected to September 18 robbery of a Kangaroo Store located at 14801 Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville, Fla. The surveillance video shows the suspect wearing the same red ski mask as well as a black hoodie style jacket.
Outside surveillance video shows the suspect's face while he carries the red ski mask, which according to the release appears to be same suspect that committed the robbery in Clay County.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect or incident should contact CCSO Detective Michael Connors through Communications at 904-264-6512.
