Orange Park High School's Drama Department presents William Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night" on February 24th, 25th, and 26th in the OPHS Cafetorium. This classic, reimagined in the era of 1970's Disco, will start at 7pm, and tickets are $5 at the door. Come see Shakespeare done like you've never seen before and if you feel the urge to dress 70's you will be part of the show!

Apply Now for Youth Quail, Turkey Hunts at Babcock Ranch Preserve

Ten lucky youngsters will be chosen for each of the two quail hunts and each of the two spring turkey hunts on the 16,612-acre Babcock Ranch Preserve in Charlotte County.  All hunters will be chosen by random drawing.  All hunts are Saturday-Sunday and will be guided. 

To be eligible for these hunts, applicants must be at least 12 years old by the first day of the hunt and under 16 years of age on the last day of the hunt for which they apply. Also, all youths must have passed a state-certified hunter safety course.

Jacksonville World Class Equestrian Competition

Jacksonville Winter Series Horse Shows feature competition January 12 to January 30, 2011, at the Clay County Agriculture Center.

Riders and horses of international acclaim will compete in equestrian events, including the sensational and thrilling Grand Prix, over three consecutive weeks. This will be the 17th year of the annual Winter Series, which has donated over $700,000 to local charities over the years, including the Clay County 4-H, Jacksonville Zoo, Donna Hicken Foundation and Hope Therapies. The Winter Series Horse Show has an annual economic impact of over $16 million to the surrounding community. The shows benefit both the local equine community and local charities. The top Grand Prix, with a $100,000 purse will be held the evening of January 15, 2011. In this event, the horse and rider navigate an extremely complex and challenging course of obstacles, of great height and width, against the clock. The horse and rider must jump, or clear the obstacles, with the fastest time winning.

Firefighters from Clay County Fire Rescue and Orange Park Fire Department will be spending  the next few weeks fixing bicycles for the Annual J. P. Hall Children’s Christmas Party which benefits underprivileged children of Clay County.

Firefighters collect unclaimed bicycles from area law enforcement agencies and donated bicycles from the public. These bicycles are repaired and given away at the Annual Christmas Party which will be held Dec. 18, 2010 at the Clay County Fairgrounds from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
