According to Survey, Number of Workers Living Paycheck to Paycheck at Pre-Recession Levels

As the U.S. keeps a close eye on the stock market; CareerBuilder’s survey shows the financial situation for some households is improving. Forty-two percent of workers say they usually or always live paycheck to paycheck, an improvement from 43 percent in 2010 and in line with levels seen back in 2007. The number of workers who have missed a bill payment has decreased year-over-year; one-in-five (20 percent) say they have missed payments on bills in the last year, slightly improved from 22 percent at this time last year. This is according to a new nationwide survey of more than 5,200 workers by CareerBuilder that was conducted from May 18 to June 3, 2011.

Winn-Dixie Recalls Mislabeled Baked Goods

Winn-Dixie Recalls Mislabeled Baked Goods

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Winn-Dixie stores announced a voluntary recall of some baked goods, saying they weren't labeled for eggs or wheat.

According to a release from the store, the "Winn-Dixie Lemon Bar" cakes, "Winn-Dixie Chocolate Cherry Bar" cakes and "Winn-Dixie Bakery Iced Cinnamon Rolls - 6 Pack"  weren't labeled properly, creating a problem for customers with egg and wheat allergies and those who are gluten intolerant.

A customer complaint led to an internal investigation of the matter, Winn-Dixie explained, and prompted the recall.

Products affected by the recall were sold in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Louisiana, and now Winn-Dixie said it's working with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Food and Drug Administration and the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network to fix the problem.

Mother Organizes Jacksonville's First Chiari Walk

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There is a new walk hitting the streets of Jacksonville; it's for a rare disorder.

Amanda Wendorff, of Orange Park, said she thought she was alone, when just last year her 7-year-old son was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation.

"I didn't know anyone that had it," explains Wendorff when her son was first diagnosed.

Through social media and searches online she found a small group of people on the First Coast also dealing with the challenges of Chiari.

It is a disorder that can affect the brain and spinal cord and causes excruciating headaches.

In an effort to spread awareness about this possibly debilitating disorder she has organized the first ever Conquer Chiari Walk in Jacksonville.

It is a nationwide event that will take place in several states all on the same day.
