JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man police believe crashed into a motorcyclist Monday morning and fled the scene has been found and arrested in Baker County.
According to a news release from Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesperson Melissa Bujeda, 30-year-old Michael Lee Gouran was eastbound on Youngerman Circle shortly after midnight when his vehicle and a motorcycle driven by 42-year-old Ronald M. Gilmore collided as Gilmore was headed west.
Detectives said they believe Gouran's vehicle was making a left turn across the road at the time of the collision, and that Gouran then backed into the road and drove away, leaving Gilmore on the ground.
The detectives tracked the driver to Baker County, where they arrested Gouran around 11 this morning on a charge of leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury.
