Taco Bell Donation Campaign Will Benefit Local Military Families

More than 400 Taco Bell restaurants will participate in the second annual “Freedom Bells” fundraiser, in support of the Armed Forces Families Foundation.

One hundred percent of donations made from Nov. 10-23 will go toward projects to benefit military families in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

McRib is Back!

Beginning today, the legendary McRib sandwich will be available at participating Northeast Florida McDonald’s restaurants until November 22. The McRib, a boneless pork patty dressed with fresh-slivered onions, dill pickle slices, tangy barbeque sauce and served on a toasted, golden-brown home-style bun, is known among customers for surfacing on select local menus for limited periods of time. 

Orange Park Medical Center is Using New Web Application to Speed Emergency Room Care of Children

Emergency Room physicians at Orange Park Medical Center are the first in the area to use Artemis, a web application to help them treat children. In just a few seconds, the application provides emergency room staff, as well as EMS crews, the critical, size specific therapeutic information they need to deliver emergency care to young patients. This includes correct doses for every drug that could be used, as well as the correct, child sized equipment such as endotracheal tubes needed to open and maintain the child’s airway during treatment or surgery.

Firehouse Subs Introduces New Life-Saving Pickle Bucket

Renowned for hearty, oversized portions and piping hot subs, Firehouse Subs unveiled their new pickle bucket, showcasing Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. The Foundation raises money throughout the restaurant chain to support fire fighters, police and EMS. All 395 restaurants sell their recycled pickle buckets for $2 a piece. Proceeds benefit Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which gives back to public safety entities in communities, served by Firehouse Subs.

MAU Job Fair for Welders with Mechanical Skills on September 30th

A special job fair will be held on Thursday, September 30th for individuals with mechanical and welding experience for MAU job openings at the Jacksonville TTX location. The welding positions will be performing railcar maintenance and repair duties for MAU at TTX.  MAU is a human resources firm headquartered in Augusta, GA that provides custom workforce solutions.  

Panera Bread Opens Area's 13th Bakery-Cafe at Oakleaf Town Center

Panera Bread will hold a grand opening celebration for its 13th cafe in the Jacksonville area, located in the Oakleaf Town Center at the Duval-Clay County border. In honor of the grand opening, customers can sweeten their morning routine with a free cup of coffee from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, September 17 and Monday, September 20.
