Front Porch Robbery Suspect Strikes Again

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -- Detectives believe a front porch burglar has struck again, this time robbing a victim of her gifts while she was at home.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the second incident happened at a home on Sandy Springs Drive in the Eagle Harbor area on Friday, Jan. 6.

A neighbor said he saw a silver SUV with large rims drive by and return about 5 minutes later.

The witness said he saw the SUV stop, at which point a woman whose weight he estimated at 220-250 pounds got out, ran to the porch, grabbed two boxes and ran back to her vehicle.

The victim was home at the time, and she told deputies the boxes were Christmas gifts worth about $150, including family photographs.

The delivery driver told the deputy he delivered the packages that day, but didn't notice anyone following him.

CCSO spokesperson Mary Justino said a similar crime happened in Jacksonville on Dec. 30. and the description of the suspect is the same.

A surveillance camera captured images of the suspect and the vehicle on the Jacksonville robbery, and both sheriff's offices are working on the case.
