Five Dogs Dead Following Orange Park Fire
News

ORANGE PARK, Fla. -- It took 20 firefighters just under a half an hour to put out a fire, but they weren't fast enough to save the five dogs inside.

Clay County Fire Rescue crews responded to the residence just after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, and they got the fire out just before 8 p.m.  No residents or firefighters were injured in the fire.

Now the fire marshal is trying to determine what started the blaze.

Residents told the fire department they first noticed the fire near the home's back deck, according to Deputy Chief D. E. Motes.

Units from the Town of Orange Park helped fight the fire.
